In occasion of the 2022 Salone Nautico of Genoa, our creative studio has conceived, designed and produced the project “Genova Cambusa dei Mari” (“Genoa, the Galley of Seas”), a guide to the best workshops, stores, artisanal realities of the city that are dedicated to the safeguard of tradition, the taste for research, the cult of beauty.
The fundamental intent of this action of narration and valorization of the Genoese commercial heritage was to renovate the purchasing approach. To create an international model of industriousness and commerce that can promote knowledge and not consumption, embrace diversity and favor quality over quantity.
This is the reason why we chose to use the word “cambusa” (galley): the nautical term is indeed based on the respect and valorization of raw materials, it implicates the recovery and saving of resources, and it condemns its waste.
With this project, Genoa offers itself as “galley of high quality”, becoming the first Italian city to valorize the craftsmanship, the industriousness, the work of men and women who form the commerce of their territory, promoting conscious purchases and preserving an essential heritage for the identity of any enterprise: memory.
